Made new friends, got no sleep!!

We had a meeting last night at una cafeteria, Alicia (mom) Marissa (a friend in the program who lives close) took a bus there. Marissa and I walked along the beach because we got there early. Gorgeous. The whole group arrived and we ate some dinner (snack type foods) but I thought that was my dinner jaja. Marissa and i walked home, longer walk than we thought. Got "cat called" on the way home... oh boy.. I arrived home around 930 and Alicia had dinner ready for me. Another 2 plates of food AY! A tuna omelet on one plate (huge) and then an entire plate for salad drenched in vinegar. mmm :) haha well i ate that and then she offered me ice cream and bread next, I had to say no more!!
Left the house around 11 o'clock and met up with a friend Erika, we  walked around where everyone in santander was out! As soon as we open our mouths people know we are not from there!  I asked a girl who was 10 years old, and her mom how to get to the plaza and the little girl first off says, "where are you from" :) well, i just blew my cover, but they were very helpful and I got to talk to them while we walked there. I have so far, walked into the guys bathroom twice... i asked where the bathroom was and a guy told me a la derecha (to the right) so i did and nope... not it! and the second time many guys were watching.. good good, more embarrassing moments in a different language. we met many people that night and made friends with Isma, Joel, Eduardo, and Sandra. Stayed out till 5 a.m. which is early to go home because Thurs, Fri, and Sat night people stay out till 7 or 8 a.m. in the morning. AY!
Hanging out with people who only spoke spanish for about 5 hours was so much fun and I learned so much. Joel walked me home and it was awesome because he told me all about the history of Santander and how the city burned down completely. There was a statue and I asked what it was, it was something religious he didn't really know. He then asked me if i was religious and if i believed in anything? I said yes I believe in God. He didn't believe in anything because he couldn't see God. We talked the rest of the walk home and he was really interested in why I believed in something I couldn't see. I couldn't believe that i was talking about my faith in a different language and that was possible!!! :) God is good :)
Fell asleep at 6a.m. and woke up at 11 a.m. to have hot cocoa and cookies for breakfast. Now I am off to go walk to school to see how long it will take in the mornings :)
Sidenote: Everyone greets with a kiss on both cheeks and apparently I wasn't very good at it because Isma was teaching me how because I was doing it wrong hahaha
I hope all is well in the U.S. and that you all are enjoying every day :D love and miss you guys!
¡Dios te Bendiga!
