One thing they LOVE here is MAYO!!! so this is the much loved mayo salad that i've eaten twice so far.
yes, mostly mayo JA!

My brother here, Jose, works on a boat and catches fish. This is one of them!

The past two days there was a wind storm. I couldn't sleep both nights because it was so loud. I literally thought there was going to be a hurricane here. I even asked Alicia what was up this wind!! Ehh.. apparently nobody worries bout hurricanes here. only me :)

At the plaza de Toros :) unfortunately there isn't any bull fighs here in Santander in the winter!!

Arroz con Leche. Super good and super easy :) one of my favorite desserts.
So last night when I came home, Alicia asked me if I was hungry. I said a little bit, cuz we had just eaten some tapas (snack type food) When I got to dinner I saw one plate with one piece of chicken and was thinking, "WOW this is awesome, she knew I wasn't that hungry!" NOPE! jaja I sat down and she brings me another plate with FIVE empanadas and then another plate with salad. She cuts a hunk of bread for me. and then after eating that I had arroz con leche. SOooo in total I ate 4 plates of food, after not being an ounce hungry. :D gotta say, it was some dang good food :D

This is where I eat my desayuno, almuerzo, y cena :) cute little table :)

YUM! Alicia taught me how to make this--- simple as cake! (easier then making cake for me haha)
I also told her that I like ajo (garlic) so she packed on the garlic on my chicken today lol She said this is the closest thing to Mexican food that she makes, mmmmm how I miss mexican food!

Alicia makes this many mussels at least every other day. I'm not a huge fan cuz I have to rip them out of the shell, but they're not bad. Sea food is the main course most meals here.

Let's see. Saturday went to the beach, swam in the ocean. Saturday night we went out and went dancing, I got to talk to my parents on skype before that and they met Alicia (my host mom) and I translated for them so they could talk to her and her to them :) very awesome. Went out dancing and learned how to say "high five" which is chocala :) we met some girls outside a discoteca and one spoke english because her mom is from canada. we hung out with them and met their friends. That was awesome to hang out with people who live here and make more new friends :) walked around to different places and then went home around 4 a.m.
Sunday 5 of us went to go see a movie, we saw "come, reza, ama." "eat pray love" with julia roberts. It was dubbed in spanish and most of it I understood. Some of the time I was tired of trying to understadn so I would just watch and see what was happening instead of listening!
Hmm... Monday class and then walked around town to the Plaza de Torros. SOmething that I thought was hilarious was the workout equipment they have int he parks : look:

Today I woke up at 830 and had to leave at 850, so I hurried up and eat breakfast (by pouring my cereal into my hot chocolate) and then heading off to school! After class I came home to eat and then headed out to la playa de sardineros. Jesika, Erika, y yo went swimming in the ocean. There were huge waves and I wanted to take a picture with the waves behind us. We turned our back to the ocean (which I was told never to do when I was little!!!) and lo' and behold my parents had reasons why they told me that. haha we turned around just in time to see a HUGE MASSIVE wave smash down on us. I got a quite nice face full of sand HAHA it was  a ton of fun. We studied on the beach afterwards andt hen walked home to where I am now writing this blog. Hope you have enjoyed!!
¡Dios te Bendiga!
