New Food!

woke up 10 a.m. and Alicia had breakfast ready for me. she even got out an OSU cup for me to feel more at home jaja they eat all sugar for breakfast!
The hot cocoa was delicious :D
we went shopping and walked around town, we bought mostly meat. i found these pigs.. check it out.. hooves and all.. yum ja!

came home and I unpacked part of my bag to get more organized. then decided to go walk around town, so beautiful.. it started to pour though and I did't have an umbrella so hence I was soaked by the time I returned for lunch.

View from where I was walking

A Pharmacy! Almost like where I work :)
and oh boy what we had for lunch!
i've never had shrimp or calamari or mussels, well, now i have! all in one meal. oh and that wasn't all. I told her thank you and she brought out another plate, i thought it was for her son. Nope, it was for me!! I got another full plate with a chicken drumstick and a chunk of bread.
When I went to eat the shrimp I told her I'd never had one so I don't know how to eat it, thank goodness she said you don't eat the head, those eyes staring at me while I was eating it was gross enough. Now I can say I'm not a huge fan of shrimp or mussels.

  1. Aren't foreign countries fun for trying to communicate. Rick and I were once in Germany on a bus and this asked the driver how to get to a certain place. He immediately launched into broken germenglish (german/ english. We stepped off the bus, looked both ways, and said to each other, "did you understand what he just said", "nope". The driver got off the bus, took us by the shoulders and pointed us in the right walking direction, and then got back on the bus and left. haha I think we eventually got there, but it wasn't easy. Glad that your adventure started off with so much to write about. I love hearing everything about your trip. And I know how much you like "meat". The food stories should be funny. It reminds me of "my big fat greek wedding" when the aunt says to the new inlaws, " you don't eat meat!!!!???? I cook lamb". I love that line. Have fun and God Bless!
